Pics from Thursday - Sunday

This first picture was taken today. I just love the look of the yellow rose against the dark background. With the cold spell we've had lately, its nice seeing these signs of spring.

This is the motorcycle we purchased for my husband on Saturday. It is a 1977 Honda CB750 K. We'll be picking it up tomorrow. This is something he has been wanting for quite awhile, so I am glad we were able to get it.

Yes, my hubby is featured two days in a row. This really shouldn't be surprising. Its more surprising he's not in every pic. lol Here he is with one of his favorite pastimes, reading about airplanes. In this instances, it is airplane engines.

Its Girl Scout cookie time here. Don't these look yummy!! So far, I've purchased seven boxes. But that number may go up. lol

My car has a display of the outside air temperature. This is what it read at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. Talk about cold!! And I was wearing sandals. lol

Girls Scout Cookies

Girl Scout cookies are evil. I tell you they are. I opened my first box of what should be Samoas, but since I live in a council that uses the ABC Bakery instead of the Little Brownie Baker, are Caramel Delightes and the box has already forced me to eat five cookies. That's right, five cookies. So mean that box of cookies was too me. I may have to teach that box a lesson and eat the whole thing right away. lol

Peaceful Transition of Power

Today, the 44th President of the United States of America. This day is truly historic, not just because Barack Obama was elected, but because of what his inauguration represents. It represents a peaceful transition of power. This is something that we in the United States are privileged to experience every four years. Yet there are many in the world who have never known a peaceful transition of power. How truly amazing that this peaceful transition of power has gone on for over 200 years. How blessed we really are to be in this great country.

I had to work today, so I was only able to listen to the inauguration of my XM Radio. I thought Obama gave a good speech. Not an amazing one, but a good one. I did really enjoy this quote from his speech.

The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

As President Obama take office. I am interested to see where the next four years will take us. I know I am not going to agree with everything he does. I've never agreed with everything any President has done. But whatever happens, I hope the next four years are ultimately filled with prosperity and happiness for this country.

Playing Catch Up

I am even more behind this time than I am last time I had to play the catch up game. So, I am going to get on with the descriptions.

This first picture, taken 1-20-2009, is of my XM Radio connected to my iPod speakers. This is how I was able to listen to the inauguration today, on the POTUS channel on XM Radio. I had to work today and I did not want to miss the inauguration. In the United States, we are privileged to experience every four years a peaceful transition of power. This is something many people throughout the world never have the opportunity to experience, so this is something for which we should be grateful. That is why I chose to capture my method of experiencing another peaceful transition.

This picture was taken of the brand new Circuit City about 15 minutes from our house was taken on 1-19-2009. It's been open less than six months and now it will be closing its doors forever. I have always had an inexplicable fondness for Circuit City, so I am sad that they are closing. So, I wanted to get a picture of the sign on the Circuit City store.

Most of my pictures are taken using my Canon dRebel XS. However, on Sunday morning I absolutely loved the look of the sky near hour home, so I definitely wanted to take some pics. My Kodak ZD710 was more readily available at the time, so I used it instead. I must say I am really happy with the way this came out.

This is one of the pics I took on Ssturday. I am always looking to get a good shot of the flag as I love what she represents. I must say I am happy with this one.

I took this pic of a doggy toy on Friday evening. Do you see what is missing? The poor dogs legs. Do you know when my dogs got this toy? On Christmas day. My dogs are so rough on toys. Very few toys can handle the stress. I've found the original Loofah dogs to be the best option so far.

I'll admit this is another desperation shot. This is my car's dashboard at night. One of the reasons I fell in love with my car is because the dashboard glowed bright red. So, why not get that on record. :O)

Congrats!! You made it to the end of my post. I really appreciate your sticking around to look at all of my pics!

Let Them Eat Cake

Last night I was up at the church working with the young women. After making birthday cards, we all had birthday cake to celebrate one of the leaders' birthdays. Needless to say, I had to get out my camera. Getting good shots is hard cause the young women just don't stay still for long. lol But I did get this one great shot of my most faithful blog reader (its a little blurry, but I had to use it). She reads all three of my blogs, so I told her that the pic of her eating cake was going to be my pic of the day and she decided that would be kewl So, Kayla here ya go, the pic of the day for yesterday.

Okay, I know I haven't posted lately

But honestly, not much going on beyond ADSR 4 and Project 365. You can checkout what I am doing there using the links to my other blogs.

Last night we made our second trip to eat at The Crepe Maker. I love eating their stuffed crepes. They are so good. I especially love the dessert ones. I am sure no one is surprised about that. :O)

Our dogs are all being good right now. It's a miracle. Okay, not really. Its that they are all asleep. hehehehe

Okay, I thought I'd share with y'all the only photo of me from the whole Christmas season. I took plenty of pics, but I am not in them. lol. This picture was taken when we went to Lake Wales to Bok Tower to see the Pinewood House decorated for Christmas.

Say Hello to the Anole

When I got home this evening, this anole was dying to have its picture made. And it stayed on that leaf through the use of three lenses and multiple shots. What a good model. (Wish my hubby was so patient when having his pic taken. lol) This is my favorite of all the shots. (I did crop it so that you could really see the anole.)

Pics Since "Friday

After today, I am hoping to be back to posting every day. :O) I much prefer presenting them that way. For today though, here are my pics since Friday.

This first pic was taken on Friday. This is the office where I work right as I got off work. I'm not real happy with the pic, but is the best of the ones I took on Friday. I was very disappointed in all the rest.

This pic from Saturday comes from a prompt I saw on another blog about taking a pic of the grocery store you shop at. This is the Publix we go to most often. It is a very fancy one with a fountain as you pull into the shopping center. This is also the only pic of all the ones I took that I liked.

The other day I posted hibiscus leaves. The pic from Sunday is of flowers from a hibiscus in the front yard. But not the one I took pics of earlier. I love taking pics of flowers in January cause it reminds me of why I love Florida.

Once again, I was at the end of the day and no pic. So, for today, you get a pic of the home depot closest to our house. It only opened a few months ago, but we are frequent visitors. Gotta love The Home Depot. :O)

And that catches me up on posting about the pics I've taken. I hope to do the layouts of the last two weeks this coming weekend. When I do, I'll post them here.

Two Days In One

First, I am glad to hear that I am not the only person with dogs with selective hearing. Its amazing how they never miss the word treat. lol

I am combining two days of pics today as I never had time to come post my pic yesterday, but I did take one. Wednesdays are always very busy for me, so most Wednesday pics will probably be in the same post with most Thursday pics.

Yesterday's pic is a pic of my desk at work. For me, that is a clean desk. (Luckily the big mess is out of view of the camera. lol) Every once in awhile I go through the motions of cleaning it off. But eventually, it goes back to its naturally messy state.

Today's pic was taken with the phone on my camera. Its not the greatest pic, cause my phone doesn't have the greatest camera. This pic is of my hubby playing games on his phone while waiting for our food. This is definitely a daily thing in my life. lol (Luckily, my phone has games too.)

Time to Meet Sazume

Well, none of my early morning shots turned out as I had hoped. So, its time for y'all to meet another one of my dogs, Sazume. She is on the screened porch and I am not, which explains the kind of grey look. I wanted her to come outside, but she was listening well, as usual. lol

Lunch Time View

I noticed someone the other day took a picture of their drive in the rain. Well, that was my inspiration for today's photo. In my case, this is the view from my car window while eating lunch at Sonic. (I love Sonic!) I took pictures from different angles and this is the one I liked the best.

I have to admit that I am loving this challenge. I am photographing all kinds of things I would never have photographed that are a part of my daily life. (Sanosuke, he would have been photographed anyway. lol)

Desperation - Leaves from a Hibiscus

Okay, I almost waited too late to get a photo for today and ended up taking the pics outside after dark. Since I have not perfected that skill yet, I was left without a lot of choices. This picture is of leaves on the hibiscus right outside our front door. I am in love with hibiscus, so including them in my photos is a good idea. Alas, none of the ones in my yard (six plants in the front yard alone) are in bloom. So, you get to look at the leaves today.

Not Feeling Good

I know my blog has been kind of slow lately, but I haven't been feeling well. /ao what blogging I've done has been for Project 365. But I really hope I start feeling better tomorrow as that is when the Amazing Digiscrapping Race 4 begins. You can see what Ginger and I (my partner for the race) are doing for the race here. (Yes, the blog is boring right now, but things will start getting busy this week.) But I promise to do better this week, so that all of my faithful readers (that would be Kayla) have something to read.

Quick Trip to Savannas State Park

We made a quick trip out to Savannas State Park today, so I could take some trips. Neither my dh nor I are feeling great, so we didn't stay long. However, here is my favorite of pictures I took.

First Pic of 2009

Here is my very first pic of 2009. We drove about an hour and a half to go to Whataburger. Its one of our fav fast food places. My chicken strips and gravy were yummy. :O) I've never taken a pic of Whataburger before, so I thought it's be a great choice for my first pic. (You can't tell from the pic, but it was actually pretty busy.)
