Peaceful Transition of Power

Today, the 44th President of the United States of America. This day is truly historic, not just because Barack Obama was elected, but because of what his inauguration represents. It represents a peaceful transition of power. This is something that we in the United States are privileged to experience every four years. Yet there are many in the world who have never known a peaceful transition of power. How truly amazing that this peaceful transition of power has gone on for over 200 years. How blessed we really are to be in this great country.

I had to work today, so I was only able to listen to the inauguration of my XM Radio. I thought Obama gave a good speech. Not an amazing one, but a good one. I did really enjoy this quote from his speech.

The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

As President Obama take office. I am interested to see where the next four years will take us. I know I am not going to agree with everything he does. I've never agreed with everything any President has done. But whatever happens, I hope the next four years are ultimately filled with prosperity and happiness for this country.
